The Fire of Moloch: False God of Infanticide, Patron Demon of Abortion
Let us meditate carefully on the following ominous words from Leviticus 20:1-5:
"The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Say to the people of Israel, Any one of the people of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones. I myself will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given one of his children to Molech, to make my sanctuary unclean and to profane my holy name.
And if the people of the land do at all close their eyes to that man when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death, then I will set my face against that man and against his clan and will cut them off from among their people, him and all who follow him in whoring after Molech."
If the people close their eyes to the one who sacrifices his child, then God will set His face against that man and his entire extended family, and those who closed their eyes to his grievous sin will also be cut off from God along with him.
Who is Moloch (as pronounced in the Douay Rheims)? He was the Canaanite god of child sacrifice. The bronze body of this statue was used as a furnace for sacrificing babies. The name is derived from the Hebrew word melek, which means "king."
This false god was worshipped by the Ammonites, an ancient people that descended from the sin of Lot's daughter when she got her father drunk and slept with him, bearing a son named Ben-Ammi (Genesis 19:38). The Canaanites were descendants of Canaan, the son of Ham and the grandson of Noah. Genesis 9:20-25 recounts the story of Ham and Canaan being cursed for Ham's sin against his father Noah.
So this false god of infanticide was literally "conceived" from the rotten fruit of sin and curses. Parents would offer their babies to Moloch by placing them on the outstretched hands of the statue. There was a furnace inside the belly portion which would be lit. The bronze hands would become so hot that it would burn the child to death. Drums were played loudly to drown out the cries of these precious little innocents.
17th century English poet John Milton, in his work Paradise Lost, wherein he depicts Moloch as a chief warrior for Satan and a fallen angel who wishes to be honored as a pagan deity on Earth, writes, "First Moloch, horrid King besmear’d with blood of human sacrifice, and parents tears, though, for the noyse of drums and timbrels loud, their children’s cries unheard that passed through fire."
In Leviticus 18:21, the one true Almighty God commands, "And you shall not let any of your children pass through the fire to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord."
In the modern world, we tend to think of such ancient practices as barbaric and evil, which they most certainly are. However, many think they just belong to an era of humanity that was uncivilized, as opposed to our allegedly very civilized and refined modern world. But alas, these evil practices continue on to this day, under Satan's campaign of "Pro Choice," and under the banner of a false freedom and corrupted legality.
Abortion facilities still exist. And even if they do not have bronze statues with furnaces built inside, they do have instruments intended to murder the life of a baby in very cruel and torturous ways. And if the people close their eyes to the individuals who medically perform such acts, and to those who crop up the buildings for them to transpire, and who get paid handsomely to do such things, then God will cut all of them off who follow them in their depravity, those of the modern day who are still whoring after Moloch.
May they repent of such wicked crimes, seek the mercy of God, and make reparation for their sins. Because otherwise, the wide road to perdition leads to outer darkness, where there is weeping and grinding of teeth for all eternity. God desires all to be saved, He does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked. May we pray for an end to abortion, infanticide, Moloch worship. May we work for a true culture of life, and may God have mercy on the world.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. We love you. Save souls. Amen.
