Mary: The New Eve

Genesis 3:15

Douay Rheims: I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

NIV: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.

KJV: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

NAB: I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel.

There are multiple translations of Genesis 3:15. Each of these translations concerning who will crush the head of the serpent. The Douay Rheims says “she.” The New International Version says “he.” The King James says “it.” The New American says “they.”

What we see happening today in our world is what we were foretold in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3:15. We see Satan the serpent at war with the woman. This pro life vs pro choice/pro murder and “There are only two genders” vs men can be women is the war between the serpent and the woman. So who is the woman?

The woman is the Mother of Jesus Christ (Jesus is true God and true man) - Mary. This war is between her seed (Jesus and those who keep His commandments) and the devil and the devil’s seed (the world and those who follow the serpent, Satan, the devil). Throughout the Bible, Mary is called “Woman”. Let’s examine the verses where she is referred to as the woman in Scripture:

John 2:1-5 And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. 4 And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? my hour is not yet come. 5 His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.

Here, Jesus calls Mary, Woman. Mary instructed Jesus to do His first miracle. She still says now what she did when Jesus walked the earth: “Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye” (Do it).

John 19:5-27 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalen. 26 When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. 27 After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.

Jesus Christ gave us His beloved mother as He died on the cross as a gift to guide us to Him, and our own crucifiction of our own sins. She is the Mother of the Church and this is her war (Genesis 3:15 I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed)

Galatians 4:4-5 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Revelation 12:1-7 And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And being with child, she cried travailing in birth, and was in pain to be delivered. 3 And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his heads seven diadems: 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered; that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod: and her son was taken up to God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that there they should feed her a thousand two hundred sixty days.

. . .

Revelation 12:16-18 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the river, which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. 18 And he stood upon the sand of the sea.

We see this war from the beginning of Creation in Genesis (Gen 3:15) all the way through to Revelation where the woman defeats Satan. Genesis 3:15 is reffering to the same woman and Revelation 12 makes Genesis 3 certain that the woman is Mary, since Jesus is her seed. Mary is the New Eve, just as Jesus is the New Adam. In his first letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul teaches that Jesus is the “last Adam” who redeemed us from the first Adam’s disobedience:

1 Corinthians 15:45 So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15.21-22)

Mar'y’s obedience was counter to the first Eve’s disobedience!

[Jesus] became man by the Virgin, in order that the disobedience which proceeded from the serpent might receive its destruction in the same manner in which it derived its origin. For Eve, who was a virgin and undefiled, having conceived the word of the serpent, brought forth disobedience and death.

But the Virgin Mary received faith and joy, when the angel Gabriel announced the good tidings to her that the Spirit of the Lord would come upon her, and the power of the Highest would overshadow her: wherefore also the Holy Thing begotten of her is the Son of God; and she replied, ‘Be it unto me according to your word.’

—St. Justin Martyr A.D. 160 (Dialogue with Trypho, 100)

[W]hat is joined together could not otherwise be put asunder than by inversion of the process by which these bonds of union had arisen; so that the former ties be cancelled by the latter… […] [I]t was that the knot of Eve’s disobedience was loosed by the obedience of Mary. For what the virgin Eve had bound fast through unbelief, this did the virgin Mary set free through faith.

—St. Ireneaus of Lyons A.D. 180 (Against Heresies, III.22.4,)

For just as [Eve] was led astray by the word of an angel, so that she fled from God when she had transgressed His word; so did [Mary], by an angelic communication, receive the glad tidings that she should sustain God, being obedient to His word. And if the former did disobey God, yet the latter was persuaded to be obedient to God, in order that the Virgin Mary might become the patroness of the virgin Eve.

And thus, as the human race fell into bondage to death by means of a virgin, so is it rescued by a virgin; virginal disobedience having been balanced in the opposite scale by virginal obedience.

-St. Ireneaus of Lyons A.D. 180 (Against Heresies, V.19.1,)

Death came through Eve, but life has come through Mary. (Epistle 22, 21)

—St. Jerome (Translator of the Bible) 3rd Century

Our Lord . . . was not averse to males, for he took the form of a male, nor to females, for of a female he was born. Besides, there is a great mystery here: that just as death comes to us through a woman, life is born to us through a woman; that the devil, defeated, would be tormented by each nature, feminine and masculine, as he had taken delight in the defection of both.

—St. Augustine A.D. 396 (Christian Combat 22.24)

The earliest Christians believed that Jesus’ mother Mary played was the New Eve. They understood the many similarities between the situations of Mary and Eve: both were virgins, pledged to a man, visited by an angel (in Eve’s case, a fallen one), and made an important decision in response to the angel which helped bring about the actions of the man: Eve believed the serpent and led Adam into sin; Mary believed the angel Gabriel and helped bring our Savior into the world. Jesus was the new Adam, who defeated Satan instead of the first Adam, Mary the New Eve, and Gabriel the Angel who visited Mary in Luke 1 the new angel.

Mary’s obedience was counter to the first Eve’s. Let’s examine the verses below concerning her obedience, which was contrary to Eve’s:

Luke 1:28 And Mary said: Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Luke 1:43-45 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed art thou that hast believed, because those things shall be accomplished that were spoken to thee by the Lord.

Luke 11:27-28 And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him: Blessed is the womb that bore thee, and the paps that gave thee suck. [28] But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God, and keep it.

The angel Gabriel is the new perfect angel and delivered the news to Mary when he greeted her and said:

Luke 1:28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Now that we have established who the woman is, let’s discuss how we see the war and the enmity between the woman (Mary) and the serpent (Satan) and her seed vs his. The pro choice party is a perfect example of Satan’s seed vs the Catholic pro life movement, Mary’s seed:

Genesis 3:15 I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

Revelation 12:16-18 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the river, which the dragon cast out of his mouth. [17] And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. [18] And he stood upon the sand of the sea.

This is Satan waging war against the WOMAN and her seed. To slaughter a baby in the womb is to make war with women and her offspring/seed. This is the war against the woman. Satan HATES women because it is a woman he is at war with: “And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17

In the video you can see the banner the Pro Life Catholics are holding of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the woman, and the rioters all around the Church (the serpent’s seed).

Another way Satan is attacking the woman by attacking women is by attacking gender. The entire trans movement is an attack on the family, and an attack on women. Sister Lucia of Our Lady of Fatima warned us that the final battle would be on marriage and on the family":

This is Dylan Mulvaney, Instagram and TikTok influencer who is a trans woman, so basically, a man appropriating a woman. This is how the devil is attacking women- by trying to erase them. Yet we already know who wins:
